Booking and Coordination
Book as early as possible for large groups — peak summer and holiday weekends fill 3 to 6 months in advance. One person should coordinate the booking and collect payments from the group rather than attempting to split costs through the booking platform.
Contact Grand Lake Cabins at 303-588-4472 to discuss which property best fits your group size and activity interests. The hosts can advise on the differences between properties and help match your group to the right cabin.
Food and Grocery Planning
Plan a major grocery run on arrival day — either at the Grand Lake grocery store or the larger market in Granby (15 minutes away, more selection). Create a shared meal plan before the trip so grocery lists are organized. Designate cooking teams or a rotating kitchen schedule for larger groups.
A well-stocked cabin kitchen handles cooking for 16 people efficiently. Breakfast at the cabin, trail lunches packed from the kitchen, and a mix of cabin dinners and village restaurant visits is a practical approach for multi-day stays.
Activity Scheduling for Large Groups
Not everyone in a large group will want the same activity every day — plan for some flexibility and independent activity tracks. Hikers, kayakers, and game room enthusiasts can operate simultaneously. Identify one or two 'anchor' group activities per day (dinner together, morning hike) and let the rest of the day flow.
Snowmobile tours for groups of 12 to 16 require advance booking with outfitters — confirm capacity and timing when you reserve. Kayak rentals for a large group should also be reserved in advance at the Grand Lake Marina.
